If I were ever to get a arrested, this is one good reason why I don't think I'd resist. But then again, who's to say what one would do in such a situation. But I am aware of them and know the affects they can have on your personality, your behavior, etc...and btw, I was in no way making excuses for the man in the video because I am a true believer in that we are all responsible for our own actions.. Was simply acknowledging the affects drugs have on people's behavior - a quick example; Smoking a doob with some of my buddies back in the day had entirely different effects on each of us. Torture? Probably. I did six months in a county jail, trustee for 4 of it. The guards used to run to see a tasing. Or if they missed it, they would say shit like "Why didn't you come get me?" to their fellow officers. I reckon that it would give those pukes something to talk about at their second jobs as mall security or part time factory workers. The point is, very few of those pigs are career corrections officers. They're regular fucks with an 8 dollar an hour job, therefore, not sophisticated enough to think of torture. I think it's mostly just, "Hey, this guy is balking, let's show'em...". Obviously, fun and games went out the window when his eye got put out... so to speak. The Fucking Cops and other comments like this seem to indicate that it's ok for you to fuck the cops rights but you want the asshole who assaulted two family members and tore up his own house before the police got there to have all the rights in the world.
His family was scared because of what he was doing, it took 7 cops to get him under arrest and he kept fighting once at the jail. By the way the Grand Jury also heard the fact that he had a heart condition before he was tazed. Something the cops didn't know

I've probably tazed a dozen people with positive effects in stopping their violence or protecting the innocent from the person I tazed. I also had to receive a zap from the tazer to carry it.

Yea I agree....this was a sad incident. I really do not believe that no one present wanted this to happen regardless of what this guy did prior to arrest. The majority of police officers do want to help others. We are human just like anyone else and can get upset…that doesn’t mean we want someone to be injured or die. This was a sad situation for all involved but mostly for the arrestee’s family.

Totatlly totally 100% correct. A friend works in corretions and as soon as the shit hits the fan he says the women are no where to be seen. THey don't cover your back they quickly bail and assume command positions (ie desk). He says they are equally despised by both guards and inmates alike.
Tazers have saved more lives than they have been a contributing factor in taking. In some instances a tazer will be deployed where once lethal force would have been used. In other instances when dealing with in uncooperative detainee physical means would be used to gain compliance of the person causing potentially greater injury to all involved. A properly deployed tazer minimizes injuries.

Additionally most of the deaths that occur connected with Tazer use or the ( C.O.D.) was not connected with the tazer but a preexisting condition which the tazer agitated. It is clear to me that the officers in this video did not handle the restraint appropriately and had other alternatives to their containment of this inmate. Once again this video does not depict the average use of tazer in my opinion.

Other than that, death could occur simply due to the stress of the experience combined with drug use or prior health conditions, but that has nothing to do with the taser. Its like, if you pull out a gun and give someone a heart attack, they weren't killed by the gun.
Look up the autopsy reports for every incident and its the same thing- he was tased, died from something unrelated, and the taser was blamed.
