To test the hype, I'm on an '05 12" G4, professionally tuned with a new HD and retail version of Leopard, fully updated and I can't get the videos to play. Mac does it different, it doesn't do it better.

Same with PC users. They all brag about their stupid hardware or complain about how they can't get their "fuct up pc" to work, in all the chat rooms and the forums, rarely do I see a "simple" or "stupid" question in a non-computer forum or chat room being dropped in that is about something other than Windows or a PC.

You sound a little bitter. I don't know anybody that brags about their PC. But I'm also IT. The funny thing (from my perspective) is that people keep saying "Mac" and "PC". You can run Microsoft Windows on a Mac and you can run Mac OS on a PC. This is of course on Macs that were built after Apple switched to the x86 architecture. That being the case, it comes down to what operating system you want to run. And linux is free...

Both computer companies suck. They're both rip-offs, their operating software is regularly problematic or user-unfriendly much of the time, some of Apple's hardware is regularly failing update after update (since 2004), several PC manufacturers have no idea how to spell "compatibility," and so the operating system that people should run is the one that they're used to, no point in "switching" just to have different kinds of problems if they're still abundant.
