Yesterday I was the fake liacon. First of all, I would like to apologize to the real liacon for stealing his avatar. I was not trying to insult or make fun of him. Sorry if that was viewed as my intention. I have enjoyed his wit and sometimes wisdom for the well over a year I have been here. I am not a loser. I am not in the Top 10, but I am a familiar face. I was simply to make a point to all of the turkeys here who blindly "plus" every comment of people they know or like. The purpose is to rate comments not people. When you do that it devalues the worth of the system. I do not care that liacon is popular. He deserves to be liked. But the day before yesterday, 10 people "plus"'d him for just saying "Hi." to someone. Save it for things that are said that are funny or wise. Otherwise, the whole rating system becomes meaningless and watered down.
Again, I apologize if I offended anyone, particularly the great "real" liacon.

You've made your point and a valid one, concerning the rating system, but the rating system is not that important. Stealing identity of another member, to make a point is more serious.

I have been around longer than him I think. And I have no idea what you mean about beating the vid change over time. I know I pissed of the "super regulars" (I am just a regular regular). I've been coming to NT for a couple of years off and on and only joined less than 2 months ago. Yes there are cliques here, just like anywhere else on the internet. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, just the nature of the beast. Certain individuals will bound and then stand out as a group. This makes them no better or worse than any other group unless they develop a pack mentality to destroy others. I have not seen that here.
If the COTD is your sole goal, you really need to think about what is going on with your life. I mean, what are you going to do, show your mom and have her put it on the refrigerator door? You are a screenname and an avatar on the internets. It's not like you are going to be walking down the street and someone points a finger at you and says "Hey, there's Icarus, he has the COTD on NT 5 times!!!". I think most people are like me and come here to fuck off. Sure, it would be a bit of an ego boost to hit COTD but let's keep things in perspective. It's not going to be a life changing event. And if it does, you might want to evaluate your life.
Again, I come here to fuck off. Watch some vids and read some funny comments and attempt to contribute myself. Every once in awhile I'll get into a debate because that is my nature but that is not why I come here. Hell, I have even gave a thumbs up to a person in one thread while arguing them in another.
