Is saving 10 minutes on your commute and being able to swerve in between traffic really worth the risk?

See this is what I mean, everything is relative:
If Tommy hadn't been rude at his father last night, his father wouldn't have slammed the front door.
If Tommy's father hadn't slammed the front door, he wouldn't have scared the fox from the front garden.
If the fox hadn't been sacerd from the front garden, he would never have been seen 5 minutes later, by Jakob.
If Jakob hadn't seen the fox he wouldn't have been slown down sports car to avoid hitting the fox.
If Jakob hadn't slowed down to avoid the fox, Sonny wouldn't have been able to read the number plate that read: W4NKER
If Sonny hadn't told his wife the next morning before leaving for work about this comical numberplate, he would have left for work 30 seconds earlier.
As Sonny did leave for work 30 seconds later than he would have if he had not told his wife about the comical numberplate he saw last night, he would have avoided hitting the truck and still be alive today.
