Alright, seems nobody here studies legal subjects because your all looking at gender instead of whats actually happening. Even though the woman may have provoked the use of physical force, provocation does not serve as a defense for assault or battery (at least not in the country i live in)
The man committed battery on the woman by inflicting physical force upon her body which was beyond the standards of reasonable social interaction. Whether the person is a male or female is irrelevant, its a violation of a persons rights and its against the law.
