The -ONLY- upside to their existence is that it's a great example of how freedom of expression works, that's it, of course if they had their way, if any religion ever gets their way, oppression results. These nutjobs would take all the freedom they want, but given the power, they would not return in kind.

And I should just reference the posts above, ummyeah did a nice job cutting out a quote to respond to, sure Americans don't know about religious discrimination about burqas, but it was odd that the part about civil benefits restricted to hetero couples was not included. Ok, it was beside the point, but Americans should know all about that kind of religious discrimination, it's no secret.
Trying to dodge on vague statements when only 1 post beforehand applied to it, that does not work so well, of course, this is a broad sweep, not intended toward anyone in particular.

If someone does charity work because they want to save their soul, sure, let the people benefit, but damn if that's not some selfish motive, it's like faking nice to get some pussy when you are really a total asshole, dishonest, if they don’t do it to save their soul, then they don’t need religion to do it, and it’s genuine.
