you reminded me of when I worked in a gas station and it wasn't prepay. Black people were the only ones who would start pumping while someone came in & paid for the gas. I'd say "Do they know to stop it themselves, 'cause it's already on" & they'd say "yeah, they should know" and they'd go over by $30 and refuse to pay because they sent someone in to prepay. Used to have to argue a lot with them but eventually I'd just quietly grab a paper & pen and go out to their car and write the plate down. That always made them cough up the money. long comment, sorry
